Thomas E. Owen, Sr., age 74 of New Albany passed away Thursday, July 29, 2010 at his home. He was a member of First Baptist Church of New Albany and was retired from Oeffinger – Crone Heating and Cooling. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Martha Jean Owen.
Mr. Owen is survived by his children, Jo Jean Gidcumb (Keith) of Marengo, IN, Laura L. Criss (David) of New Albany, IN, Kimberly K. McNamer (Michael) of Waldorf, MD, Millicent M. Owen of New Albany, IN, Rebecca I. Owen of McCordsville, IN, Elizabeth E. Owen (Les Huddleston)of New Albany, IN, Tammy E. Owen of Nicholasville, KY, Thomas E. Owen, Jr. (Betty) of Palmyra, IN, Mabel E. Landon (Daniel) of New Albany, IN; 12 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Anna Mae Wood of New Albany, IN, Mary I. Perry of Greenville, IN, Carolyn Sue Davis (Robert) of Sellersburg, IN; 2 brothers, David M. Owen (Elaine) and Robert D. Owen (Myong Cha) both of Greenville, IN.
Funeral ceremony will be 4PM on Saturday, July 31, at Newcomer Funeral Home, (formerly Generations Funeral Home) at 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, with burial in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until 4 PM on Saturday. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
