1944 - 2012

Elizabeth A. “Bettie” (Daniel) Compton Jameson, 68, of Greenville, Indiana passed away on August 7, 2012. She was a Catholic by faith and the former leader of the Girl Scout Troop 140 from Lafayette Elementary.

Bettie was born on May 26, 1944 in New Albany, Indiana to the late Roy E. and Elizabeth (Nold) Daniel. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Don Compton; son, Daniel Compton and sister, Teddy Jones. She is survived by her husband, Jimmie F. Jameson; daughter, Kelli Drescher (Charles); brother, Mike Daniel (Susan); grandchildren, Matthew and Colleen Drescher.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 PM on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Friday after 12 noon. Her Funeral Service will be at 1:30 PM on Friday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Floyds Knobs, Indiana.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Crusade for Children in care of the Lafayette Township Fire Department.
